FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MORIMOTO HEADLIGHTS

Are Morimoto XB Headlights completely plug-and-play?

Indeed, all of the Morimoto XB LED and XB Hybrid headlights will be fully plug-and-play. Because Morimoto understands how crucial a stress-free and simple installation is, they designed these headlights to be simple enough to install in the convenience of your garage. Because the XB LED headlight modules are manufactured using OEM factory connectors, every model will fit perfectly. For automobiles with factory-installed HID or LED headlights, Morimoto manufactures OE-quality adaptor harnesses with factory connectors. Morimoto XB LED headlights can be installed without requiring any changes, and they won't violate your factory warranty.

Do the headlights come with everything needed for installation?

Everything required for installation, with the exception of tools, will be included with every XB LED and XB Hybrid device. You will receive a DRL fuse tap harness, a plug-and-play wiring harness, and one set of high-performance LED headlights when you buy your new headlights. You might also require screwdrivers, pry tools, sockets or wrenches, and Torx drivers for the installation.

Do the XB LED Headlights need separate bulbs?

There are two different types of Morimoto XB headlights. There is no need for extra bulbs because the XB LED headlights are a fully LED headlamp unit. The headlights include turn signals, parking lights, DRL, low beam, and high beam.

The XB LED Hybrid headlight's turn signal bulb is necessary. We recommend either upgrading to an LED turn signal to match the remainder of the LED-equipped headlight or reusing the original OEM turn signal bulb. The headlamp has built-in DRL, high beam, and low beam functions that don't need extra bulbs.

How much brighter are the Morimoto headlights versus my stock headlights?

Your OEM headlights are often 2–5 times less bright than the Morimoto XB LED headlights. Thanks to the XB LED headlights' significantly wider beam pattern, a larger range of light is distributed evenly. We test new headlights from Morimoto in a controlled atmosphere by bringing them into our studio. The headlight's maximum lux will be tested 25 feet from the wall. These measures allow you to see how well the Morimoto XB compares to the original equipment headlights.

Should I buy the XB LED Headlights or the XB Hybrid Headlights?

Your budget will determine how you respond to this issue. The headlights with more features and a higher price tag are the XB LEDs. The entry-level, less expensive model is the XB LED Hybrids.

The goal of the XB LED headlights was to produce a superior product to the competition. Using unique features and bi-LED technology, they were able to do this. An animated startup sequence and an LED turn signal with sequential or standard functionality are some of these characteristics. With this model, halogen lights are not required because it is fully LED-equipped and requires no bulb replacement.

Fortunately, many of the best features of the XB LED are also present in the entry-level XB Hybrid models. The same premium LED internals, UV-coated polycarbonate lenses, and 5-year warranty that come with the high-end variant are still included. The two models both use bi-LED projectors, so you don't notice much of a difference in performance between them. Three key distinctions between the XB Hybrid models include the absence of a start-up sequence, interior color, and turn signals. The XB Hybrid units' turn signal uses an original halogen bulb, which may be replaced with an LED bulb. The XB Hybrid units' interiors are also grayer in hue. For any consumer on a tight budget seeking a factual lighting enhancement, they remain an excellent choice.

What happens if one of my bulbs burns out?

The low-beam and high-beam components of XB LED headlights are not equipped with changeable bulbs. The turn signal bulb is only replaceable on the XB LED Hybrid headlights. As usual, you will swap out your OEM turn signal bulb for any alternative headlamp unit if it quits functioning over time.

Checking all of the wiring and connectors is advised if you ever find that one of your high beams or low beams is not working. Verify that every connector is corrosion-free and free of bent pins. Installing the functional headlight on the side of the faulty headlight will allow you to verify whether the headlight is indeed malfunctioning. Please get in touch with our customer support team to start the warranty procedure if the problem stems from the damaged headlamp.

Will my OEM headlight functions still work?

The OEM headlamp functions on your wheel stalk or dash will continue to function. The Morimoto XB LED headlights will not replace OEM features. Furthermore, installing these headlights will not void factory warranties.

I just installed my Morimoto headlights, and they won't turn on. What next?

Your headlights may not be working for one of five primary reasons.

  • Inside one of the connectors, there are bent pins. Examine each connector closely to ensure that the pins are making contact with the interior.
  • An installation issue could be caused by a plug being unplugged or inserted incorrectly. Before continuing, please make sure you have read the install guide.
  • The fuse box included blown fuses. If necessary, check and replace any fuses connected to the headlights. The vehicle's trim or model is incompatible.
  • Depending on your original choices and trim level, you may not be able to use all of the Morimoto XB LED headlights. Prior to buying, be sure to read Morimoto's compatibility guide.
  • The headlights arrived defective. If you have a working and a non-working headlamp, we advise mounting the functional headlight on the side of the broken one. If the problem stems from the damaged headlamp, please contact our customer support team to start the warranty procedure.

My headlight is not working correctly. What do I do?

There are six primary reasons why your headlights may not be functioning.

  • One of the connectors has bent pins inside. Please verify that the pins are making contact with each connector by closely inspecting it.
  • An installation problem may be the result of one of the plugs being plugged in incorrectly or unplugged. Before proceeding to the next step, please make sure you have read the install guide.
  • The fuse box contains blown fuses. Examine any fuses connected to the headlights and replace them if necessary.
  • It is not compatible with the vehicle's model or trim. Specific Morimoto XB LED headlights may not work with your car, depending on your factory choices and Morimoto's. Before making a purchase, make sure to read Morimoto's compatibility guide.
  • The headlights were delivered with defects. If you have one side that works and one that doesn't, we advise placing the functional headlamp on the side of the broken headlight. To initiate the warranty process, please contact our customer service team if the problem stems from a damaged headlamp.
  • Your new headlights may not work correctly if you have other aftermarket LED components fitted. We advise removing further aftermarket components and conducting additional testing.

My headlights stay on even after my vehicle is turned off.

Your headlights may continue to connect even after the car has been switched off for four significant reasons.

  • Inside one of the DRL harnesses or connectors are bent pins. Please verify that the pins are making contact with each connector by closely inspecting it.
  • Install error: For information on where to put the fuse tap, consult the installation handbook.
  • Has the DRL harness been put in place? Did you remember to attach both headlights to the harness?
  • Headlights were delivered with defects. We advise placing the functional doesn't MP on the side of the broken headlight if you have one side that works and one that doesn't. To initiate the warranty process, please contact our customer service team if the problem stems from a damaged headlamp.

How do I adjust the XB Headlights?

Additional adjustment problems may arise if the aiming adjustment screws are turned past the advised limit. The headlight's threads may peel if these adjustments are over twisted, which would impair mobility for up-and-down aiming. Another option would be to over twist the adjustment until it unscrews entirely, rendering it unusable. It's crucial to keep in mind that your new Morimoto headlights are directed and correctly set for cars with stock right height. The vertical and horizontal adjustments on the rear of each headlight unit can be used if more adjustments are required.

Are Morimoto headlights street-legal?

When directed correctly, Morimoto XB LED and XB Hybrid units meet and surpass all SAE, DOT, and FMVSS108 criteria.

Are my headlights covered under warranty?

If you purchase your Morimoto XB headlights from an authorized Morimoto dealer, like Ledlightjeep, the normal 5-year warranty is included.

What does the 5-year warranty cover?

The 5-year Morimoto warranty covers manufacturer flaws Morimoto's parts, functionality, and finish of the product. If the product ceases functioning as intended or gets blemished without being damaged, Morimoto will replace that part for you. Labor costs associated with installation are not covered or reimbursed by the warranty. Only the original buyer is eligible to claim Morimoto warranties, which are non-transferable.
