How to install a 3rd Brake Light Flasher
In June 2015, GTR Lighting launched this updated flasher module. The power consumption does not surpass 3 amps of current flow, and it is intended to be used in conjunction with an LED brake light.
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT WITH INCANDESCENT LIGHT BULBS!
Below is a wiring diagram showing that three wires, rather than two, are now exiting the switch. Thus, the product can operate on more automobiles with more wiring.
Depending on how your brake lights work, you will need to install it one of two ways:
Using a digital multimeter or a computer-safe test light, check your car's brake light wiring to see if it has a positive or negative switched wire. The brake lights are positively switched if you constantly have a ground signal and only receive a positive signal when you apply the brake pedal.
A braking system is said to be ground-switched if the positive wire is always electrified but only gets ground to complete the circle when the brake pedal is depressed.
