Morimoto XB LED Headlights for the 2016-2021 Honda Civic

Morimoto XB LED Headlights for the 2016-2021 Honda Civic
For the past few years, the 10th Generation Honda Civic has been among the top 10 best-selling vehicles. Price, comfort, and dependability all contribute to this vehicle's iconic status. Tremendous homogeneity accompanies tremendous popularity. Morimoto's XB LED headlights for the 2016–2021 Civic are the perfect option if you want to make your Civic stand out from the crowd while also improving your forward lighting capabilities.
The Civic was initially fitted with either the high-end LED reflector headlights or the halogen reflector headlights seen on the base model. In any case, the performance of the XB LEDs is superior in terms of both output and beam pattern. Everything is entirely plug-and-play and comes in the box to work on both models as standard.
ABOUT
Morimoto's XB LED range exemplifies top-tier headlights. Such a wide selection of lights that fit trucks, SUVs, supercars, sports cars, and, more recently, vintage vehicles is difficult to find. The Honda Civic is a fantastic beginning for improving the lighting capabilities that are typically reserved for much larger cars.
These XBs are pre-installed with UV-coated polycarbonate glass that will withstand the elements and guarantee that your car's new XB LED headlights will continue to appear brand new for many years to come. They also have a PPS plastic casing, which is more challenging and lighter than similar models. For the OEM-grade Osram LED chips, a diecast aluminum heat sink inside the housings offers more than enough cooling.
These lights are powered by five integrated LED projectors. The three external projectors represent the low beam, while the two internal projectors represent the high beam. The "jewel-eye" design of such projectors is popular because of its distinctive and opulent appearance.
Another prominent feature that adds to the light's aesthetic appeal is the LED strip that doubles as a turn signal and DRL. Morimoto has carried over its design philosophy to this new model, which is not surprising, as they usually incorporate a DRL strip like this in their XB collection. The factory headlights have their own DRL, so connecting your Morimoto headlights to the factory connectors is simple.
WIRING
We want to discuss the wiring harness that comes with the XBs before beginning the installation. Depending on the type of headlight you have, an adaptor harness might be required.
You shouldn't be concerned if your headlights are OEM LED reflectors. Your Honda Civic headlights' OEM connectors are precisely where the Morimoto XB LEDs will fit. All that will be required of you is the parking light connector and the regular three-point connector.
If you have the original halogen headlights, the adaptor harness is also required. It will be connected to the XB LED's three-point connector. On the opposite end, there will be connectors for the turn signal, high beam, and low beam.
The final item is a pink and green single-wire connection. If you leave them hooked into each other, they will run the sequential turn signal. If you detach them, you will have a regular blinker for the turn signal.
PERFORMANCE
We have a set standard for all of our performance tests. First, we park our automobile 25 feet from the wall, perpendicular to it, in the garage. Then, we move a digital Lux meter around the beam pattern to find the brightest point and measure the light's brightness. Although this is not a perfect representation of how well these headlights will work in the real world, it will give you a decent notion.
The factory headlights' maximum brightness on a low beam is 180 LU. This is respectable, but it barely compares to the XB LED's 590 maximum lumens. Compared to stock, it is 220 per cent brighter. Additionally, you receive a crisper, wider beam pattern with constant intensity throughout its spread.
We discovered that the factory high beams, which had a maximum brightness of 480 Lux, were not even as bright as the low beam of the Morimoto XB LED. Nevertheless, the maximum Lux rating for the XBs was 2220, an increase in light production of 358 per cent.
INSTALL
First, identify the 19 clips that are spaced along the front border of your engine bay by opening the hood. The difficulty of removing these clips may vary depending on how old your car is. Give it some time.
If you remove the rubber strip and pop the pins off in this manner, they will come undone more easily. The rubber strip at your engine bay's edge can then be removed.
On the second row of the bumper, you will find four bolts and seven clips on the underside of the vehicle. Allen screws are used for the remaining two bolts, and two of them are 10mm. In a few more stages, the front bumper may be removed thanks to this.
From the fender lining, remove two screws. Use a pry tool to peel the bumper back from beneath the side marker after removing the screws.
Proceed in the same manner with the opposite side.
The trim piece that runs the length of the headlights will then be disconnected. Gently pull with a pry tool. Repeat on both sides.
Before completely removing the bumper, loosen it up and hook on any fog lights you may have.
At this point, you can start removing the headlight. Five 10mm bolts must be unscrewed: three at the bottom and two at the top.
The housing should be carefully removed from the headlamp. Lighten the lamp with a pry tool. Before removing the headlight completely, unplug the cables from it.
The stock housing must have a piece of bracketry removed before you can proceed with installing the Morimoto XBs. Remove both 10mm bolts to accomplish this. Using a Phillips screwdriver, you can easily remove the two brackets at the top of the OEM headlamp. The brackets on the XB housing should be put back.
Prior to fitting the new headlight, make sure the resistor is in a dry, safe location that won't become wet. Connect the connectors on the XBs to the matching connectors on the factory. The single-wire connector should now be plugged in or unplugged in order to select whether to utilize the sequential or blinker turn signal.
Check that all of your headlights are working correctly before reassembling your front end.
With your Morimoto XB LEDs for the 10th generation Honda Civic, you are ready to go. These significantly improve the Civics' appearance, and the car's performance is self-evident. Here, you can have your own set!
